Grant McCann delighted with Hull City’s free agent capture

Grant McCann will slowly ease new signing Norbert Balogh into his side over the coming weeks.

The Tigers have signed the 23-year-old to bolster their attacking options.

Balogh, who is a Hungarian international, was a free agent after leaving Italian side Palermo at the end of last season.

McCann has said, as per Hull’s official club website: “He’s been training with us for about a week and he’s been really impressive.”

He’ll bring something different and can play in any of the front three positions. He’s very good with the ball at his feet and can shift past people and get shots away early. He’s six foot six and can link up play, and can play from the left and the right.”

He added: “We’re really pleased to have brought him here and it feels like a bit of a steal to get him on a free, although he’s probably four or five weeks away in terms of getting up to speed with the group and he’s not ready to start a game just yet.”

“We’ll probably ease him in. He’s here and he’s willing to learn, and that’s the good thing about him. He has got huge potential and he’s had an unfortunate time at Palermo with the club going bust. We feel as though we have got a little rough gem to polish. We’ve known about him for a while.”

Balogh offers Hull more depth and options in attack. The Tigers drew 2-2 against Wigan Athletic yesterday at the KCOM Stadium.
