In this podcast we analyse the "Brutal Truth" behind the club's key loan signings and ask the question: which stars actually lived up to the hype at St. Andrew's? We discuss the impact of James Beadle, who became a mainstay between the posts with 35 Championship starts and 8 clean sheets, and Tommy Doyle, whose technical quality in midfield provided 3 assists across 38 appearances despite a challenging second half of the campaign. We also explore the January arrival of Ibrahim Osman from Brighton, who injected much-needed pace into the wings with 2 goals and 2 assists in just 17 games, alongside the industrious Jhon Solis, who notched his first Blues goal against Bristol City late in the season. As Chris Davies looks to build on a 10th-place finish next season, we evaluate whether these loan players did enough to warrant permanent moves or if Birmingham City should look elsewhere.

In our final match of the 2025–26 EFL Championship season, Birmingham City secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Portsmouth at Fratton Park. The afternoon got off to a difficult start when Adrian Segečić put the hosts ahead in just the 8th minute, but the Blues responded quickly with August Priske powering home a header from a Kai Wagner corner in the 19th minute to level the scoring. Despite a "sloppy" opening, Chris Davies' side grew into the game, with Ibrahim Osman missing a golden opportunity to take the lead and James Beadle producing a vital save to deny Conor Chaplin. The match wasn't without drama, as a late controversy involving Segečić sparked a pitch-side melee and a yellow card after he attempted to score while Birmingham players expected the ball to be returned following an injury to Christoph Klarer. This result sees Birmingham City finish their first campaign back in the second tier in a respectable 10th place with 64 points, providing a solid foundation to build upon for next season.
In this podcast we discuss some of the key moments in the game and provide our general thoughts on the team selection, the formation and overall performance as well as some wider issues and opinions. We welcome comments from Birmingham City or Bristol City supporters below this podcast. If you are fan of another club we welcome your thoughts as well!

Fratton Park welcomes Birmingham City for the final day of the EFL Championship season as the Blues look to finish their campaign on a high note against a resurgent Portsmouth side. While Birmingham City currently sit comfortably in 10th place with 63 points, Pompey find themselves lower down the table in 18th position, separated by 9 points. Despite the gap in the standings, it is Portsmouth who enter this fixture as the form team, having secured four victories in their last five outings to pull away from the danger zone. The Blues, meanwhile, will be desperate to improve their away record—having struggled on the road with 13 defeats this term—to ensure they end the year with three points and momentum heading into the summer.

What a great way to wrap up the home campaign! In this post-match reflection, we dive into Birmingham City’s 2-1 victory over Bristol City at St Andrew's. It was a dominant performance to sign off the season in B9, highlighted by a clinical first-half display. Phil Neumann got the party started early with a brilliant 8th-minute volley from a Demarai Gray free-kick, before Jhon Solís doubled the lead by pouncing on a defensive error just before the half-hour mark. Despite a late Tomi Horvat penalty for the Robins, the Blues held firm to secure all three points and a third straight home win. We’re breaking down the key tactical shifts, the atmosphere at St Andrew's, and what this result means heading into the final day of the season.

St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park prepares for its final EFL Championship game of the season as Birmingham City host Bristol City in the penultimate weekend of the season. Following a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Preston North End earlier this week, the Blues have climbed back into the top half of the table, currently sitting in 10th place with 60 points. Chris Davies' side has shown renewed grit in the final stretch, securing seven points from their last three outings to steady the ship after a difficult run in early April.
Bristol City arrive at B9 just one point and two places behind Birmingham, making this a classic mid-table encounter for final league positioning. The Robins have proven to be resilient on the road recently, coming off an entertaining 2-2 draw with promotion-chasing Southampton. While the Blues will be desperate to secure another home win and move further up the table, Bristol City are looking to record a rare league double over Birmingham following their 1-0 win back in October at Ashton Gate. With both sides separated by the thinnest of margins, both teams will be fighting to finish the 2025/26 campaign on a high.
In this podcast we discuss some of the key moments in the game and provide our general thoughts on the team selection, the formation and overall performance as well as some wider issues and opinions. Birmingham City secured another three points at St. Andrew's with a 2-1 victory over Preston North End, highlighted by Jay Stansfield finally breaking his goal drought and an electric, goal-scoring performance from Ibrahim Osman. Both teams came into the game with nothing to play for and sitting firmly in mid-table and the game played out like an end of season game. Blues came out of the blocks quickly and scored two early goals however Preston came back into the game and got a goal back early in the second half with sloppy defending from the Blues from a Preston corner. Although both teams had chances to add to their tally, the game finished 2-1 with Blues taking all three points and moving up to 10th in the table.

With the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship campaign reaching its final few weeks, Birmingham City return to St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park for a midweek clash against Preston North End. Following a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at Hull City and a convincing 2-0 victory over Wrexham, Chris Davies’ side are looking to cement a strong finish to the season. The Blues currently occupy 14th place in the table with 57 points, sitting just two places above their visitors from Deepdale. While both sides are safely nestled in mid-table, the battle for bragging rights will be interesting; Birmingham are eyeing a season double over the Lilywhites after a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, while Paul Heckingbottom’s men arrive motivated to leapfrog into the top half after their recent victory at Charlton.
In this podcast we discuss key players, possible formations and key strengths and possible weaknesses for each team. We welcome comments from Birmingham City or Preston supporters below this podcast.

What a strike from Tomoki Iwata! Welcome back to the channel for our post-match reflection as Birmingham City travelled to the MKM Stadium to face play-off chasing Hull City in a crucial late-season clash for the hosts. In a game that often flattered to deceive, it was the Japanese maestro who stole the headlines with an absolute thunderbolt to gain a well-deserved point for the Blues. Hull were disappointing for a team chasing the play offs however the point kept them in the final play-off position, two points ahead of seventh placed Wrexham with three games to go.
