St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park prepares for its final EFL Championship game of the season as Birmingham City host Bristol City in the penultimate weekend of the season. Following a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Preston North End earlier this week, the Blues have climbed back into the top half of the table, currently sitting in 10th place with 60 points. Chris Davies' side has shown renewed grit in the final stretch, securing seven points from their last three outings to steady the ship after a difficult run in early April.
Bristol City arrive at B9 just one point and two places behind Birmingham, making this a classic mid-table encounter for final league positioning. The Robins have proven to be resilient on the road recently, coming off an entertaining 2-2 draw with promotion-chasing Southampton. While the Blues will be desperate to secure another home win and move further up the table, Bristol City are looking to record a rare league double over Birmingham following their 1-0 win back in October at Ashton Gate. With both sides separated by the thinnest of margins, both teams will be fighting to finish the 2025/26 campaign on a high.
In this podcast we discuss some of the key moments in the game and provide our general thoughts on the team selection, the formation and overall performance as well as some wider issues and opinions. We welcome comments from Birmingham City or Bristol City supporters below this podcast. If you are fan of another club, we welcome your thoughts as well!

Birmingham City secured another three points at St. Andrew's with a 2-1 victory over Preston North End, highlighted by Jay Stansfield finally breaking his goal drought and an electric, goal-scoring performance from Ibrahim Osman. Both teams came into the game with nothing to play for and sitting firmly in mid-table and the game played out like an end of season game. Blues came out of the blocks quickly and scored two early goals however Preston came back into the game and got a goal back early in the second half with sloppy defending from the Blues from a Preston corner. Although both teams had chances to add to their tally, the game finished 2-1 with Blues taking all three points and moving up to 10th in the table.

With the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship campaign reaching its final few weeks, Birmingham City return to St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park for a midweek clash against Preston North End. Following a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at Hull City and a convincing 2-0 victory over Wrexham, Chris Davies’ side are looking to cement a strong finish to the season. The Blues currently occupy 14th place in the table with 57 points, sitting just two places above their visitors from Deepdale. While both sides are safely nestled in mid-table, the battle for bragging rights will be interesting; Birmingham are eyeing a season double over the Lilywhites after a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, while Paul Heckingbottom’s men arrive motivated to leapfrog into the top half after their recent victory at Charlton.
In this podcast we discuss key players, possible formations and key strengths and possible weaknesses for each team. We welcome comments from Birmingham City or Preston supporters below this podcast.

What a strike from Tomoki Iwata! Welcome back to the channel for our post-match reflection as Birmingham City travelled to the MKM Stadium to face play-off chasing Hull City in a crucial late-season clash for the hosts. In a game that often flattered to deceive, it was the Japanese maestro who stole the headlines with an absolute thunderbolt to gain a well-deserved point for the Blues. Hull were disappointing for a team chasing the play offs however the point kept them in the final play-off position, two points ahead of seventh placed Wrexham with three games to go.

In this podcast we respond to another set of questions from Birmingham City fans that have been put to us in our Q&A series. We had so many questions about Blues manager Chris Davies that we decided to dedicate this podcast solely to this burning issue. Despite the ambition and the "Davies Revolution," Blues's form this season has been the definition of a rollercoaster so we discuss whether Chris Davies is still the man to lead 'the project' into next season or whether the club should consider a change.

With only four games remaining in the EFL Championship season, Birmingham City travel to the MKM Stadium looking to build on their recent momentum and secure another three points on the road. Following a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Wrexham at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, Chris Davies’ side will be desperate to improve their away form against a high-flying Hull City team currently occupying the final play-off spot.
The Tigers have enjoyed a strong campaign and currently sit in 6th place with 68 points, 12 points ahead of the 15th-placed Blues. While Hull will be looking to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Sheffield United to cement their top six status, Birmingham will be eager to prove they can compete with the league's better clubs and climb further away from the mid-table pack. Having won the reverse fixture 3-2 back in October, Hull City will provide a stern test for a Blues side that has struggled for consistency away from home this season.
In this podcast we discuss key players, possible formations and key strengths and possible weaknesses for each team. We welcome comments from Birmingham City or Hull City supporters below this podcast.

In this post-match reflection, we discuss Blues’ emphatic 2-0 victory over Wrexham. After a tense first half, the deadlock was finally broken by a brilliant Carlos Vicente header, followed by captain Christoph Klarer clinical finish to secure all three points and end our recent losing streak. While the "Hollywood Derby" hype took over the media, Chris Davies and the boys stayed focused on the pitch. We analyse how Vicente’s electric pace tormented the Wrexham defence and how Klarer’s dominant display at the back (and his third goal of the season!) shut down the Red Dragons' promotion charge.

Birmingham City has just published its financial accounts for the 2024/25 season, and the numbers are nothing short of explosive. This is the season in which the Blues played and became Champions of EFL League One. Despite playing in League One, the club has posted a staggering £35.6m in revenue—the highest ever for a club in the third tier without parachute payments. But with a £38.9m wage bill and a £34.6m pre-tax loss, is this a sustainable masterclass or a high-stakes gamble?
In this podcast we discuss the "Knighthead Model" to see how Tom Wagner and Knighthead are transforming Blues into a commercial powerhouse.

Birmingham City put up a much-needed battling performance against automatic promotion chasing Ipswich Town at Portman Road and had a perfectly good goal chalked off by the officials, eventually losing the game 2-1. Blues manager Chris Davies made seven changes to the starting line up from the starting line up against Blackburn Rovers and despite a few early chances for the home team, it was Blues who took the lead through Carlos Vicente in the 32rd minute. A five-minute spell of poor defending at the end of the first half resulted in two Ipswich goals and despite a fantastic effort from Blues in the second half, Ipswich hung on to claim all three points and to climb to second in the Championship table putting them in pole position for an immediate return to the Premier League.
In this podcast we discuss some of the key moments in the game and provide our general thoughts on the team selection, the formation and overall performance as well as some wider issues and opinions. We welcome comments from Birmingham City or Ipswich Town supporters below this podcast.

After a promising start Birmingham City's season is rapidly turning into a damp squib after losing five of the last seven Championship games and falling into the bottom half of the table. In contrast Ipswich come into the game with one defeat in the last ten, the second best home record in the league and right in the battle for automatic promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Blues fans will be hoping to see significant improvements from what they have seen over recent weeks however for most Bluenoses that will be more in hope than expectation given the current poor form and the importance of the game for Ipswich.

Birmingham City Fans were left furious after succumbing to their fifth defeat in the last seven games with a 1-0 home defeat to relegation threatened Blackburn Rovers. After the last outing and defeat against Derby County before the international break Blues fans were expecting a much-improved performance and to get back to winning ways however that never materialised. Once again Blues failed to carve out many clear-cut chances and despite hitting the post in the first half it was Rovers who had the better chances. A second half goal from Todd Cantwell proved to be the winner in a game that the Blues never looked like winning.
